Recognized as a White House Champion of Change and one of Pacific Standard Magazine’s Top 30 Thinkers Under 30, T.L. engineers and leads innovative and intersectional social justice campaigns, primarily focusing on creating equal access to the legal system for people with disabilities and individuals who are Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled & Hard of Hearing. T.L. is the creator of the only national deaf prisoner database and the founder and director of H.E.A.R.D, an all-volunteer organization that works to correct and prevent deaf wrongful convictions, decrease recidivism for deaf and returning individuals, and increase representation of deaf people in the fight against mass incarceration.
