Colleen Polak is the director of City Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) & Legal Services at Voices for Children in St. Louis. Her team of guardian ad litem attorneys, social work professionals, and Court Appointed Special Advocate Volunteers provide best interest advocacy for children in foster care in St. Louis. Prior to joining Voices, Colleen spent seven years as a public defender, training new staff and serving as intern coordinator for the Missouri State Public Defender, St. Louis County Trial Office. As a public defender, her practice included litigation in both urban and rural jurisdictions, affording her special insight into varying demographics of the population. She conducted dozens of jury trials, examining panelists from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.
