Race Discrimination and Innocence

Attorneys from the Southern Center for Human Rights will lead a panel of experts in addressing the intersection of race discrimination claims and innocence. The panelists will discuss how evidence of race discrimination in voir dire, jury selection, closing arguments, and jury deliberations can buttress innocence arguments and help explain wrongful convictions. The panelists also will offer a practical guide to litigating discrimination issues in post-conviction proceedings, from developing and presenting evidence to tackling procedural issues.
