From Harm to Healing: Art Project for Exonerees and Exoneree Family Members (Introductory Session)

Location: Savannah A
Date: Fri, April 12
Time: 3:45 PM - 5:00 PM

Healing Justice uses different platforms to identify and address the harm caused by wrongful convictions. One platform is expressive arts, by which exonerated individuals and others harmed engage in an art project aimed at helping them heal. In an introductory workshop, we will provide instruction on a particular art project that has been specifically chosen for trauma recovery. During the break-out sessions that follow, Healing Justice will provide participants with art supplies and a quiet, safe space to reflect on their personal journeys and create a unique, individual artwork that expresses that journey and enables recovery. There will also be an opportunity to share this artwork during a plenary session.
